Is Political Correctness ruining Entertainment?

I want to make this short. Censorship and banning things has always played a part of control over humanity. How we are supposed to think. You can find books that will give you a breakdown of books and literature that has been banned and censored throughout history. Hollywood had a time when it has always abided by certain rules and censorship depending on the times and what was to be controlled ether by political or religion having an influence on society.
Today Hollywood has a strong leftist political agenda and it is pushed in movies a lot these days. I could write a lot about how Hollywood uses propaganda to influence how we think. And in the future I want to go into more detail about this. Growing up I have always been kind of interested in why things get banned from us. Why is certain knowledge deliberately kept from us to keep us ignorant? To me, what has always made America great is FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Because here we can say things with out being killed or jailed for them. But things are gradually changing as we see people voicing their opinions on the internet and getting silenced like Alex Jones for example.
This totally concerns me as I feel the internet should be a place where people should be able to discuss anything they want. And have debates. I always think about how someone like Hitler in power, burning books so they can control everything about your life and you have no say. This is political correctness. The description is there, you are to be corrected if you go against what the people in power say. Who wants to live in a world like this where we have to constantly fight just to have a little freedom in our lives? It amazes me that the people on the left who think they are fighting for justice are actually contributing to the demise of everyone's personal freedoms. Why don't they get it?
Movies have always gone through scrutiny and censorship. But it has such a strong influence on society that any political message they can they push will be done in entertainment. People in power know the power of an image or movie even music to get a message across. Many people have done studies, written about this, made documentaries about this. When it comes to the social justice movement and political correctness on the left, there is a strong agenda going on to demonize people who lean to the right. If you are conservative or have strong Christian values. To the left with it's victim mentality and identity politics any leaning towards the right makes you the bad guy.
Since America has this bad history, that the left loves to remind everyone, about slavery, this is one of the constant victim cards they love to pull out in almost every occasion in society. Never mind the fact that America wasn't the only country to have slavery. It has gone on throughout every society. But never the less. Leftist have to have their tactics to give them this superior moral high ground to use in their arguments. Another tactic the left likes to use is silencing people. It's because facts almost always destroy their arguments, so when they can not win in an argument they try to silence people. If they can't influence you and get you to be one of the sheep that goes along with everything, they silence people so they can control everything that you think.
It's kind of scary living in a time watching this happen. I mean there have been other times in history of course where people have died for voicing their opinions. Fighting for what they believe in. Fighting the system. Fighting for control over their own lives. History is people fighting for freedoms, rather it be the right to be heard, the right to live and justice as well. But justice is for everyone one, not just the left. The law isn't supposed to discriminate. It's funny how the left preach tolerance and justice but fail to notice their own bias and prejudices.
At one time in our history this country, sadly did treat people of color very badly and wrong. And we have a time in entertainment that did portray people of color in very awful stereotypical messed up ways. Facts are facts. It is what it is. But because of some of these extreme stereotypes, this has pretty much categorized what can be shown and what can not be shown when it comes to a character in entertainment. Because of this certain people can not be villains. Because of the feminist movement, women have to be shown as strong not damsels in distress. So we now have what people describe as the Mary Sue perfect female character like Rey in the new Star Wars movies.
I hate the fact that movies have these boundaries now. Because not only does it limit what kind of a character you can see in any movie, because they are worried about not representing certain people in a positive way, It places limits in more of a favor for political identity politics. The whole idea of diversity is also pushed. Which is a good thing, but they want a check list to make sure everyone is represented. Shoe horned into a story some how even if it doesn't make sense for the story. Because it is more about getting a political message across and if they have to sacrifice the story for it so be it.
I remember a time when the movie Silence of the Lambs and Basic instinct came out. Silence of the Lambs had this crazy person who would kid nap people and then cut up their skin and use it. I believe the character was a crazed transsexual psychopath. And an FBI agent goes to another psychopath Hannibal Lector to try and understand the mind of a psychopath. The movie was wildly popular for it's day and even back then very controversial. It got criticism from the LGBTQ community for portraying a transgender as the bad guy. Today people continue to demonize that movie as an attempt to push this idea of transphobia on the rest of society. But no one, that I know of, defends the film character. Why isn't it possible for there to be a crazed transsexual psychopath like that in real life? Another popular film Basic instinct got the same criticism for having a bisexual woman be the villain. It's like we can't demonize any gay people in anyway shape or form in a movie. All gay people have to be shown In a positive light.
And this is what super sucks about entertainment now. People are overly sensitive. Everything is viewed from this politically correct lens or with leftist ideology. And because of these political agendas, you are most of the time, only getting one perspective now. Since I am keeping this short for now. I just feel like this limits our perspectives on a lot of things in life. It limits what characters can be shown so it won't offend some one. I think it is lame for an actor, talk about getting type cast. I think stereotypical characters shouldn't be such an issue. All characters created for movies are stereotypes in some way or other. It's just that people have such a psychological attachment to so many things. If you go back and read literature from the past you can't appreciate it for it's time in history if you are viewing it through a politically correct lens. You have to let that PC shit go and appreciate history. That is all I am saying. I hate PC it is putting everything in a box with this narrative that everything is offensive because it says so. Just crush your dreams and freedoms because of Political correctness because what these so called progressives really want is a world like the movie THX 1138. A world where you are really a number. Everyone has shaved heads, like no masculine and feminine qualities.. A genderless, no one can be attracted to the opposite sex society. For population control. A mind numbing society where everyone is pushed to think the same. Instead of individuals we can't have that. This twisted utopia where you are fed your daily dopamine through narcissism with social media. Just as long as you are one of the NPC PC zombies that they want you to be.
